proportion>london - AIR day three

Too much excitement today, with a sample sale and lots of papier-mâché forms being disposed of.
Also started to cyanotype the forms, as well as a first go at capturing images of the wooden hands on cyanotype paper.

proportion>london - AIR day two

I started the day collecting from the waste area and photographing and as an experiment coated a papier-mâché form with cyanotype.
I visited the local reggae, soul and rock steady vinyl record shop, Zen Records, (thank you Robert for the records and stories) and also the local comic shop, Krypton Komics, in search of mannequin related records and comics.
I finished the cyanotype form and it looks like that is going to work.

proportion>london - artist in residence (AIR), day one.

I started my 4 week residency at proportion>london's mannequin factory in Walthamstow - over the next 2 months the company will move out of the factory to new premises nearby. My residency will, in part, document the clearing of the factory and I will also make work with some of the items being disposed of.
Mannequins and forms are hand made using either fibreglass or papier-mâché. More details on production techniques to follow.
Thank you to all at proportion>london for this unique opportunity.
