Lots of German artists showing in London at the moment. Had really enjoyed the Gerhard Richter and Wilhelm Sesnal shows at Tate Modern and the Whitechapel respectively - see previous posts.
The new White Cube gallery has the largest Anselm Kiefer show in London to date - the new galleries in Bermondsey are vast and they need to be, to cope with the scale of these works. All based around the myths of alchemy and his more familiar references to 20th century german history.
Unusually, the bouncer at the door actually welcomed us to the gallery and hoped we would enjoy the show - a first in art gallery etiquette.
There can't be much lead left in his home country such is his use of it.

Saw this safety packaging on the new bikes racks outside the gallery - could have been a piece of work.
Then onto the Saatchi gallery for the new art from Germany.
Had seen Isa Genzken glass towers recently and was drawn to them - I like her quote 'there is nothing worse in art than "you see it and you know it "...- a good mantra for next term.
Interesting use of a metal frame by Alexandra Bircken - think I may use the trampoline frame for some work.
Max Frisinger's Noah's Ark - glass cases crammed with more found pieces- contrasting chaos with order.There seems to be trend to use vitrines and glass cabinets at the moment - another area to explore.
Andro Wekua's Sunset - eight metre wide installation composed or 170 glazed ceramic panels.
