Anais Mitchell at Westminster Reference Library, 15/2/12

We went to see the amazing Anais Mitchell at the Westminster Reference Library last night - the first half was a Q & A on her new album, Young Man in America, and then she played most of the album plus a couple of old ones in the second half.
It was a perfect evening of modern alternative folk music.

Walking up Whitehall, we saw the black routemaster ghost bus and immediately after seeing this, the view of Nelson's column took on an otherworldly feel.

In the library, I found myself sat next to the sound man who informed us that libraries were brilliant for sound as they were normally dry and the books helped absorb the sound waves.

Four videos featuring He did, Wilderland/Young Man in America, Venus and Tailor

Buy the album - its a masterpiece ...
